Solana slot-time cut leaves memecoin sniping rate near 53%, CryptoSlate reports

CryptoSlate reports that a shorter Solana slot time has not changed how quickly outside buyers reach new memecoin launches. Bitquery measured outside buying within roughly 1.3 seconds in 53% of cases, against 52% in samples taken before the final 200-millisecond reduction. The change moved the reading by about one percentage point.

According to CryptoSlate, the comparison comes from Bitquery, which tracked how fast outside wallets bought into new tokens. The 53% figure covers activity after the final 200ms cut to slot times; the 52% figure comes from samples that predate that change. The source presents the two readings as a comparison of sniping speed, and the gap between them is small. CryptoSlate published the report on 27 October 2026.

The summary does not give the sample size, the venues covered, or the definition of the outside-buying window, so the two percentages stand on their own.

Our own collected numbers, as of 13:17 UTC, show Solana trading at $100.69, down 0.57% over 24 hours. The token has slipped 3.03% over seven days and 18.61% over 30 days. Its 24-hour range ran from $99.09 to $102.48, and the RSI14 reading sits at 46.6 with the trend marked down. Support is listed at $99.87 and resistance at $100.26.

The wider market was close to flat. Total crypto market capitalisation stood at $2.537 trillion, up 0.12% over 24 hours, with Bitcoin dominance at 63.5%. Bitcoin traded at $80,179, up 0.077% on the day. Solana's 30-day decline of 18.61% sits against a market that barely moved over the past 24 hours.

Slot times and sniping rates are separate measurements. A shorter slot changes how fast blocks are produced; the Bitquery readings show the share of launches where outside buyers arrived within about 1.3 seconds barely moved. Solana's price sits 18.61% below its level 30 days ago, with RSI at 46.6 and the trend marked down, while the broader market's 24-hour change was 0.12%.
