Circle shareholder sues Trump over UAE crypto deals, CryptoSlate reports
· By MyCryptoSignal Editorial · 349 words
CryptoSlate reports that a Circle shareholder has sued President Donald Trump, alleging that UAE-linked cryptocurrency payments enriched his family and diverted business away from USDC. The complaint was filed on Oct. 22 in Washington federal court and challenges a $500 million investment in Trump's World Liberty Financial.
According to CryptoSlate, the filing also targets a separate $2 billion transaction that was settled using World Liberty Financial's USD1 stablecoin. The shareholder's claim is that the UAE-linked payments benefited the Trump family and pulled business away from USDC, the stablecoin issued by Circle. The report states the complaint was lodged in Washington federal court on Oct. 22. CryptoSlate published its account on Oct. 24, 2026, and the report carries no named author.
The source describes the suit as a challenge to both the $500 million investment in World Liberty Financial and the $2 billion USD1 settlement. CryptoSlate does not report a response from the White House, Circle, or World Liberty Financial, and it does not state the amount of damages sought.
As of 09:16 UTC, USDC traded at $0.999569, down 0.01094% over 24 hours. The stablecoin's seven-day change was -0.0163% and its 30-day change -0.0292%. It moved between $0.999168 and $0.999775 in the 24-hour window, with an RSI of 49.4 and a flat trend. Support sits at $0.9997 and resistance at $1.
The wider market was slightly lower in the same window. Total crypto market capitalisation stood at $2.538 trillion, down 0.34% over 24 hours, with Bitcoin dominance at 63.6%. Bitcoin traded at $80,327, down 0.28612% on the day. USDC's move stayed inside a fraction of a cent of its $1 target across the collected readings.
The filing ties a $500 million investment and a $2 billion USD1 settlement to a sitting president's family, which puts stablecoin-linked deals in front of a federal court. Against that, USDC held at $0.999569 with an RSI of 49.4 and a flat trend, and the broader market cap slipped 0.34%. The legal claim and the stablecoin's price sit side by side in the same window.
