Crypto slips 0.98% as Bitcoin holds near $82,000; Monero leads with 9.53% gain

Crypto spent Thursday giving back part of the week's advance, with the total market cap at $2.60 trillion, down 0.98% over 24 hours. Bitcoin traded at $82,235, off 1.06%, while Ether slipped 1.08% to $2,426.15. Only three of 55 tracked coins rose. Monero was the exception, up 9.53%.

Crypto's total market cap stood at $2.60 trillion, down 0.98% over the past 24 hours but still up 2.49% across seven days. Bitcoin traded at $82,235, down 1.06%, and Ether slipped 1.08% to $2,426.15. Bitcoin dominance held at 63.5%. Total volume across tracked markets reached $140.83 billion, with USDT alone accounting for $60.47 billion of it. The session read as a pullback inside a positive week, not a break of it.

Breadth was lopsided. Of 55 tracked coins, three rose, 41 fell and 11 held inside a percentage point. The majors cohort, eight coins, averaged -1.06% with no risers and six fallers. Meme coins, five names, averaged -2.63% with no risers and three fallers. The other 39 coins averaged -1.61%, with three risers and 32 fallers. The gap between the majors at -1.06% and meme at -2.63% shows the speculative end carried the heavier selling while large caps absorbed the drift.

Monero was the day's leader, trading at $641.57 for a 9.53% gain. Volume reached $285.25 million and RSI sat at 71.5 with an uptrend reading. The coin ranged between $582.84 and $656.31 over 24 hours, closing well above its low. It is up 21.34% over seven days and 13.19% over 30. No news item in the packet explains the move; the numbers show a coin pushing into overbought territory on the strongest volume of any riser.

Behind it, THORChain rose 2.12% to $0.689571, with a 7-day gain of 14.04% and RSI at 58. Mantle added 2.05% to $0.551778, up 8.32% on the week though still down 13.46% over 30 days. Kaspa edged 0.41% higher to $0.03831207, up 9.18% over seven days. TRON was effectively flat at $0.330841, a 0.007% move, with RSI at 39.9 and a flat trend. All four carry positive seven-day readings.

On the other side, Celestia fell 9.35% to $0.575637, the sharpest decline among tracked names, though it remains up 10.09% on the week and 32.27% over 30 days. Optimism dropped 7.91% to $0.121978, down 5.85% over seven days. Worldcoin lost 7.65% to $0.541456 but holds a 16.23% weekly gain. Aptos slipped 6.86% to $0.781582. Pyth Network fell 6.07% to $0.075299, extending its weekly decline to 10.81%.

Technical breadth across 30 sampled coins showed one overbought, six oversold, 15 in uptrends and two in downtrends. Bitcoin's own RSI sat at 37.6 with a trend reading of up and volatility at zero. Support was recorded at $82,634.60 and resistance at $82,826, both above the $82,235 price. The mix reads as a calm tape with a heavy oversold tail — six coins stretched to the downside while the majority still hold uptrend structures.

Over seven days, Monero leads at 21.34%, followed by Pepe at 16.91% and Worldcoin at 16.23%. The weakest week belongs to Pyth Network at -10.81%, then Optimism at -5.85% and Immutable at -5.76%. USDT's $60.47 billion in volume is the largest single figure against the $140.83 billion total. Monero is the only name appearing on both today's riser list and the week's leaderboard, while Pyth and Optimism sit on both the daily decliners and the weekly laggards.

The shape here is a give-back, not a reversal. The total cap is down 0.98% on the day but up 2.49% on the week, and Bitcoin's 1.06% decline sits inside a 2.39% seven-day gain. Breadth is the louder signal: 41 of 55 coins fell while only three rose, and the meme cohort's -2.63% average against the majors' -1.06% shows selling concentrated in the smaller, faster names. Yet 15 of 30 sampled coins still read as uptrends, and Bitcoin's RSI at 37.6 is nowhere near the oversold tail where six coins sit. Monero's 9.53% gain on $285.25 million in volume is the outlier, not the pattern.

Watch whether Bitcoin reclaims the $82,634.60 support line it now trades beneath, with resistance at $82,826 just above it. A second straight day of decline would follow yesterday's 1.93% advance and today's 0.98% slip. Pyth Network is the name to track: it led yesterday's brief with a 10.99% gain and now sits at $0.075299, down 6.07% on the day and 10.81% on the week, with RSI at 29.5. Celestia's 9.35% drop against a 32.27% 30-day gain is the other divergence.
